WHO WE ARE
Meath For Choice is a local grassroots organisation campaigning under the guidance of Abortion Rights Ireland (ARC) firstly for the Repeal of the Eighth Amendment and secondly, for broader abortion rights in Ireland. We support women, their partners and families who are experiencing crisis pregnancies – no matter what choice they make.
Meath For Choice was founded in August 2016 with the aim of forming the local branch of the national Abortion Rights Campaign in Co. Meath. MFC is headquartered in Navan, Co. Meath, coordinating the local campaign to repeal the eighth amendment and to broaden abortion rights in Ireland. Additionally, local hubs in each town in Co. Meath will support these efforts in their localities under the guidance of the MFC cordinators. We hold monthly open meetings in Ashbourne (every first Thursday) and Navan (every 4th Tuesday). One of our group members were at the forefront of the 1983 campaign in Navan – it’s a shame we are still campaigning today!
141 MEATH WOMEN
We hope to give a voice to the 141 women from Co. Meath who traveled to the UK in 2015.
WHY THE COALITION
It’s so important that all pro-choice groups are united across both sides of the border to form an unapologetic and positive voice which relays only one clear message: #repealthe8th now.
